Watching them ski

Yesterday we took the kids to Nub’s Nob to go skiing…but Sarah and I didn’t ski. Not once. The kids were all by themselves.

I joked with the family that this was the official scoring of our success as parents, that our kids knew how to ski and didn’t need our help to do it and enjoyed doing it.

After the rental and fitting process was finished, I watched the kids walk to the lift by themselves, helping each other, without us.

I got a little teary-eyed thinking of them growing up. Our little family, getting older, capable, self-sufficient, in the world.
