In the Belvedere school district we did vaccine clinics for our staff. It was an exciting thing to be able to do – since we had been waiting for the vaccine for months. The health department prioritized our school personnel and the administrators ran the clinics.
Steve’s family went with us to visit Destin that year for spring break. Sarah and I were excited to be able to surprise our kids by meeting them. Jackson claimed to have figured it out part of the way on the drive, since he and Kylie realized they were both on their way to Florida.
On the way home from spring break we got hit by a deer. Other than needing to stop to get it checked out, taking a long time to get home, having to use the passenger side door to get in and out, and a few weeks at the repair shop when we got home, the car was okay and everyone was safe.
We were all so grateful that we were safe – it could have ended a lot differently.
Daddy Daughter dance that year was an @home cooking night that we did with a chef who video recorded instructions for us to cook a meal together. Elly always seems super excited to have these nights with me. I am glad that I do them.
We took a trip to Savannah GA. It was so pretty.
It’s always so fun watching the kids play in the sand. Parker, especially, really gets into it – letting his imagination go and not holding back.
On the way back from Georgia we stopped at a forge to make knives with the kids in Pigeon Forge. Sarah wanted to make sure I did something for me, so this was my treat.
Maria came to visit so we took them to the Willis tower so they could stand on the glass floor.
Jackson graduated from junior high. Jackson has always been such a great oldest kid – he sets a great example for Parker and Elly and is always trying his hardest.
The Woestman family reunion was that summer in Bear Lake on the Utah / Idaho border
At the Woestman family reunion, we got to do some wake surfing. Jackson was super brave and was the only kid who did the wake surfing!
Sarah and I went kayaking on little boats and almost got stuck out in the lake. I was too big for my kayak and had a pair of keys I was worried about dropping in the water. The tide kept pulling us out and the waves almost knocked us over in the little kayaks.

Halloween party
Parker was able to go to the temple in Chicago for the first time.
For some reason this is one of my favorite pictures. It’s just Sarah and I, and I seem to look so happy. I think this year was one where I realized I needed to focus on myself and make sure I was doing things that would make me happy.
