Mom always made us a homemade birthday cake on our birthdays – eventually we started doing pies I think. But they were always homemade.
I think this is Grandma Alexander’s black cat. We would chase “Black Cat” around the house when we visited Michigan. It was very novel for us because we didn’t have a cat.
This is our backyard. We always had a really big garden in the backyard. Dad and Dale Erskine bought a rototiller that they shared forever. You can see that the backyard dropped off pretty steeply into a wooded area. Our backyard included a lot of the wooded area. Dad eventually put a rope down there so we could climb up and down and play in the woods.
Dad played a lot of “horsey” with us – which we loved. He always sang this song, “Doo doo doo doo” when we rode his back. Riding with someone else was a treat.
This is me kissing the infamous Easter Bunny. I believe I’m being forced to kiss the bunny, because all I remember is how scared I was of that thing. I think it was Aunt Nancy dressed up.
