I remember doing a lot of fishing when I was a kid – mostly in Michigan. We had a couple of these Snoopy fishing poles that mom and dad bought for us so we didn’t have to use the big adult poles. Grandpa would buy worms from the bait shop on the way to his boat.
We always thought it was so cool to be able to sit on the rider lawn mower and Grandma and Grandpa Alexanders. They had a big hard and we thought we were driving a tractor.
Uncle Rich’s parents had a swimming pool we would go to sometimes in Michigan. It had a diving board.
The LSD temple in Chicago was kind of far away – a 6-7 hour drive. I don’t remember going up very much, so this must have been something special. Usually mom and dad would drive up and leave us at someone’s house for a night or two – usually the Erskines.
Building snowmen was a staple in our family. Anytime there was snow we built a snowman. Mom and Dad always helped us roll the big balls and put stuff on the snowman.
Dad always took us to the ward campouts and let us build and play in the fire.
This is Aunt Teresa’s wedding – I was the ringboy.
This blue bike lasted forever. It was repainted multiple times and given to multiple kids. I think we even painted in pink at one point and gave it to one of my sisters. It had a big banana seat on it, and sometimes I was embarrassed by the seat and the fact that it didn’t have gears. But it was all I had. I eventually took the 5 off. Painting the bike and giving it to siblings made me think that was normal – and would later do that with my own kids.
