My mom often had us do a formal family photo – done by a professional photographer at their office. But sometimes we just did something simple like this at home.
I loved playing baseball as a kid.
We did a lot of wilderness play. We would go camping sometimes as a family for vacation and we had a woods area in our backyard. We were always comfortable with the woodsy areas.
Every summer we went up to Michigan for a week-long vacation. Much of the time we spent on the lake. We loved playing on the lake, playing in tubes and learning to ski.
One summer we went on a trip to visit Sea World and other places. Mom made us all matching outfits so she could find us in a crowd.
I took piano classes for years and we would have an annual concert that all the kids taking lessons would go to.
Uncle Rich was a firefighter and police officer in Michigan. We liked going to his fire station to play in the trucks and try on his gear.
