We went out to visit Sarah’s grandma in Florida. It was a big trip for us because we hadn’t done a lot of vacations that weren’t weddings up to this point. This is a picture of me and Elly on a boat tour we did.
Parker always loved burying himself in sand.
Chicago Cubs baseball games became a tradition for the family.
After we visited Sarah’s grandma, we drove down to Key West as a family. They had great Key Lime pies and lots of chickens running around. We went to a peanut butter restaurant where everything had PB on it, and one night I got hit on by some drag queens (while I was holding the kids’ hands).
Sometimes Sarah and the kids would meet me somewhere in Rockford and have lunch when I worked in Rockford Public Schools.
The obligatory family in the backyard picture.
This is from one of Sarah’s family photo shoots. On Sundays a lot of times we would go somewhere in Rockford that had unique backgrounds and take family photos or photos of individuals for Sarah’s blogging ventures.
Jackson’s first day of kindergarten!
Sarah did a bike race with her mom in Michigan. I took the kids in the car and we would race to a lookout point before she got her and wait for her and cheer when we saw her. We were so proud of her!
Notre Dame / BYU Football game.
Sarah made this t-shirt for me so I could sleep while still playing with the kids. She put it on her blog and ended up getting into a magazine for it!
When we went up to Michigan, Brother Kins would always invite us over to see his outdoor traintracks.
Sarah got me barefoot water ski lessons for a gift, so we went out on a Saturday morning for me to learn how to do it.
We went to Rockford’s Christmas on Main event – and there were way more people than we thought would be there. We got hot cocoa and walked around the town.
The kids always had to help cut down the Christmas tree with dad.
Grandma Woestman always wanted to do gingerbread houses with the cousins.
